When we think about what it takes to succeed in the business world, we often talk about technical knowledge, strategies, and experience. But there’s something you can’t learn from books: grit, determination, and the ability to get back up time and time again. That’s something our COO, Leo Milocco, co-founder of Exomindset and former soccer player, knows by heart.
From the field to the business world
Leo began his soccer journey at the age of 5, and by 15, his beloved club, Instituto, acquired him for their youth categories. His teenage years were shaped by a highly competitive environment, where every practice was a battle and every loss, a lesson. “I learned to embrace frustration as part of the process,” Leo says. “In sports, just like in business, you don’t always win, but every experience teaches you something.”
Playing in such a challenging context also helped him develop what he calls “street smarts,” the ability to read situations and react quickly—an essential skill in the business world. “Sometimes the environment was so tough that you had to learn fast, think about how to move forward, take care of yourself, and look out for your people,” he recalls.
Today, Leo carries those lessons into his leadership at Exomindset, while also dedicating time to helping young soccer players pursue their dreams by sharing the life lessons he learned on the field.
The dream of starting a company
In 2019, Leo and his childhood friend Edu Coll decided to start a business together. They had known each other since they were 14 and shared more than just a passion for sports: a set of values that now form the foundation of Exomindset. Respect, Humility, and Generosity are not just words—they are principles that guide every decision in the company.
While Edu brought his expertise as a systems engineer and his extensive IT experience, Leo contributed a business vision shaped by his degree in business administration and his background in the automotive industry. However, it was his discipline and tenacity, cultivated through years of training and competition, that truly made the difference.
Impacting the world with the values of sports
Today, Exomindset is not only a leading company in developing tech solutions but also a reflection of the values that Edu and Leo share. These values are applied not only internally but also in how they work with clients, fostering relationships built on trust and mutual respect.
For Leo, the greatest achievement isn’t just Exomindset’s success but the ability to inspire others. “Sports taught me that dreams aren’t achieved through talent alone but through hard work, humility, and the support of those around you,” he reflects. And it is with this same philosophy that he leads a company that, like in soccer, always strives to win as a team.
